you can(and should) call animal services. preferably right after it happened so they know where to look.
If you took off a piece of it's hind legs it's going to need some serious medical care...probably to be put down so at least it won't suffer too much...

I think you can find the number in the blue pages... or call the SPCA or Humane society and they can re-direct you.

Someone will actually go out and look for the deer.
same goes for stray dogs if you find one but can't/won't catch it.
