In fact, Reagan was the biggest proponent of NAFTA at the time. He thought integrating Canadian industries and the economy into the U.S. as much as possible was important for the U.S.'s national security.
Trump likes to compare himself to Reagan and invoke his legacy, but it's clear that he has no idea what Reagan was all about.
