My heart has taken so much joy over the years from the Leafs various playoff implosions. The only thing in sports that makes me happier is watching the Oilers lose.

I’m also a casual baseball fan at best. I doubt I watched 30 total innings in the season, caught Jays in 30 a few times, that was it.

And I’m absolutely gutted right now. I was awake for hours thinking about it, in disbelief, and as the dawn breaks, I still don’t want to read the coverage.

This was a special team, and it sure felt like their destiny, but it wasn’t to be. I’ll also freely admit that I’m a pessimist, at best. I tend to look at losses, and look for someone to blame. Some posts I made earlier in the thread would confirm that. But, not for this one. It was just an unfathomable series of events, and the Jays didn’t get a single break go their way.

The Jays didn’t get beat, they just couldn’t find a way to win it.

It’s got to be in the top 5 of heartbreaking game 7 losses. It’s just haunting.
