I found the latest episode of the Flames very interesting with Huska coaching.
He seems like a really nice guy, but I don't see him as the type to really motivate players. I am also not sure that his strategy of "just shoot and go to the net, and hope to get lucky goals" is really a great strategy in these days. There are coaches I am sure with very advanced strategies of how to create scoring chances and our strategy is basically to try harder.
I do see the reason to keep Lomberg in the lineup as he seems like a real leader that the players look up to. Surprisingly, Backlund was vocal a few times but I can see how he is captain.
The problem with playing Huska style of offense is we really do not have a ton of crash and bang type players to play that style effectively. It would be nice to see some creativity to get players like Coronato, Parekh, Kadri, Zary some scoring opportunities.
I also found it ironic that the coaching staff preaches accountability. But in reality the accountability is only for the rookies, and the vets can do whatever they want with no repercussions. I would be frustrated if I was someone like Zary or Coronato or Parekh, just being honest.
