A good NHL coach can get consistent results from it's rosters year over year - especially when there was literally zero turnover from last year. There is no excuses. I get that many of you want to see this team fail this season as to build for the future and that's fine, but that doesn't excuse bad performance. Didn't we want to avoid creating a losing environment at all costs? One regulation win in 12 games isn't going to help that.
Had Conroy not been so quick to sign this guy to an extension - I think the opinions in this thread would be quite different. He essentially piggy backed off of what Darryl put into place here (which wasn't working), but comes with a much softer and more gentle approach for the players.
How is it that Pittsburgh can find so much success with a god awful roster and a rookie head coach? This whole "lack of talent" argument falls on deaf ears for me. Huska has been a disaster this year and should be called out for it.
He can stay for the remainder of the year so long as this team pivots and trades off it's assets, but for me he's hasn't shown that he is the guy I want leading this team into the future.

Disaster by lineup decisions? Lines? Style of play?
I think Huska was part of the culture last year that exceeded expectations. I wouldn't say he out coached his opposition in tactics.
This year I think the team is making a lot of mistakes and the goaltending isn't as good.
But I don't think Huska has changed the way the team played or altered how he coaches.
Personally I gave him credit last year for creating an environment where they out work the opposition nightly, but not for being shrewd per say.
