I don't think its a great movie! I am.not even sure its good. What it does have is fantastic performances by Pacino and Pfeiffer. Watching Pacino in this film for.2.5 hours is well worth it. However, I was expecting an intriguing story and a well designed, directed and paced production. I don't think it had any of that. So disappointed.
I won't 'not recommend ' it because Pacino's Tony Montana is a gift, but I also cannot recommend.....though I might be the last person on earth to see it so its a moot point!

It's not a good movie. It's overwrought and caricaturish. However, it's insanely quotable and memorable, so it has staying power.
In that vein...holy hell, I think I need to go rewatch Rashomon. Kurosawa is a genius.
