Good question. And it’s both, for sure.

The pitchers can make certain pitches in certain locations that would typically favour a ground ball result, which is what you need to get the chance at a double play. And the defense can align themselves to where that hitter typically will hit it.

But, those balls were pretty hard hit so it’s pretty fortunate that they were basically right at our fielders. I would say those double plays were definitely a little lucky. Still, had to execute to have the chance.
