Trying out more trades…
Goal of these trade ideas: allow more farm system players to enter in the lineup.
Trade Nazem Kadri and Jake Bean to Detroit for William Wallinder (defence prospect), Nate Danielson (forward prospect) and 1st round pick 2026
Explanation: Detroit can benefit from an upgrade at either 2nd/3rd line centre with the addition of Kadri (a Larkin/Kadri 1C/2C is more potent); also including Jake Bean in trade as depth to help with LD depth of Detroit. Detroit has planets of cap space and could be more bold this year in trading away some farm players for players who can help them make the playoffs for the first time in a while.
Trade Rasmus Andersson to Utah for Maveric Lamoreux (defence prospect) and 1st round pick 2026
Explanation: also my goal is trade without salary retention. Rasmus Andersson improves the depth of the Utah mammoth RD. Calgary gets another defence prospect with another 1st round pick.
Trade Blake Coleman and Ryan Lomberg to Montreal for Josh Anderson, Owen Beck (forward prospect) and 2nd round pick 2026.
Explanation: Montreal’s contention window with their young core is now open. They can be more willing to take on more risky trades. Montreal can get more playoff experience from Blake Coleman and Ryan Lomberg while Calgary can get more right shot forwards to balance out their roster (along with another forward prospect and 2nd round pick)
