They haven't been though, and their positioning has changed. Huberdeau and Pospisil have been out, Gridin and Honzek have been in. Rooney is gone, and whatever anyone thinks about his abilities, he was suited for 4C and they haven't figured out that line yet.
Honzek has taken a spot on Backlund's line. It was Coronato for the vast majority of time last season. Coronato has been with Kadri and Gridin a lot this season, and it didn't work that well.
Zary didn't play C much last year. He usually played wing, either with Kadri, Backlund or Pelletier. They really want him at C so he's been stuck with less desirable linemates.
I think they need to send Kirkland down and sit Lomberg, and bring Gridin back. Then go:
Huberdeau-Kadri-Coronato
Honzek-Backlund-Farabee
Klapka-Frost-Sharangovich
Coleman-Zary-Gridin
Lomberg
I know Coleman and Backlund live together but this way you have a vet with Honzek and Gridin, you hopefully have some defensive presence on every line, and you have a spread of passing and shooting on each line.
