I was wondering wtf happened, and then read that I was one of those people easily bamboozled. Peele was just a producer, and the Director / Script guy was some no-name.
So be warned - it's a bad pseudo thriller vaguely football related. Third act totally flops in it's attempt to pay off the building tension. There isn't really any football to be had in the film, it's more of a "young guy on a famous guy's compound filled with weirdos and occasional sadism".
It's also a very visually dark movie - so watch it at night if you ignore me and decide to take a run at it.

I totally agree. Love peele. This is the only movie I’ve walked out of. No idea how it finishes and don’t care. Terrible movie and I can handle some bad stuff.
