In the end Gausman had Raleigh in a favourable count and just left that pitch hanging a bit too much in the zone, needed to make sure if you pitch to him there you're giving him nothing to hit and trying to get him to chase.
And honestly I probably would have just left Gausman in that point. He had no trouble up until then and I'd for sure not have brought little in there
But in the end the real issue with the game was the bats. With how hampered the Mariners pitching was coming into the game the bats really needed to have a better day
