For a couple of Kipper's prime years we were relying on the likes of David Moss to chip in goals.
Backlund was the team's best young player. He's never been a scorer
Not exactly a recipe for success..
And the few high skill forwards we brought in were pure playmakers - i.e. Alex Tanguay and Kristian Huselius
It wasn't until we brought in Cammalleri that we had a guy that was in Iggy's league for putting pucks in the net, and that was when the core was starting its decline.
