I don't think that's the point.. I think it is more that any look at shooting % for the shoot-out is skewed because they all have a small sample size. IF Kadri took 100 shots and Kirkland took 100 shots, it could be expected that Kadri would score more based on their comparative skill sets, so putting Kirkland over Kadri seems counterintuitive based on their relative success. I agree that 39 attempts isn't small for the situation, but 4 or 8 definitely is.
However, I also trust that the coaches are smart enough to realize this as well and are not solely utilizing players based on shooting % but also on how each player has looked in practice, their confidence on the night, etc.
