Really depends on a lot of other factors. Did Conroy turn down an offer for a very good young player/prospect or a high draft pick? I doubt it. Did he turn down an offer for a late first plus junk, possible. If Conroy's "screw up" is limited to a few draft position spots and a slightly less junky add on, then it's really not a screw up if it gave the team a better chance at a playoff birth.
