There’s a lot of science to support the fact that baseball players put tremendous strain on their arms. instances of Tommy John’s surgery have gone way up in the last few decades. Especially because velocity is such a huge factor now for pitchers.
There’s some other reasons why starting pitchers pitch less. Analytics show that you don’t want to face a lineup more than about three times or it makes it much easier on the batters.
