I don't see Huberdeau's contract as a problem. Is he overpaid? Sure, but what else would we be doing with the money? We'd probably just overpay someone else to come play here because we don't have any up and coming star prospects we need the cap space for anyhow.
Nurse's contract is terrible because they could really use that cap space for some help for the dynamic duo. We're not in that situation at all. For us it's just a poor return on the dollar. I like Huberdeau and he seems to have a great attitude and is putting in the effort, so I don't fault him at all for taking the money. Just sucks for us we aren't getting the production we had hoped for is all.
What are we going to do with all our capspace anyways? I don't see any superstar centers hitting UFA that would realistically pick us, and we don't have any young prospects that are going to eat it all up. Although it would be worth it if you could get McDavid as a UFA just to listen to the uproar from sweatpant nation.
