Hence why flipping him would be the way to go. The Stars need a top 4 RD and middle 6 LW. Andersson and Coleman can play those roles at a discounted rate. Although, if the Stars trade Robertson, Coleman would then be their #1LW. Yikes.
The Stars also need to unload Lyubushkin and the Flames could bury him, if needed, or hold him until another team has injuries and flip him too.
The trade is a good fit for the Stars, but not so much for the Flames.
However, if Robertson changes which teams want to trade a C to the Flames, then that is a win. I think Robertson could be close in value to most of the good C prospects that Conroy would be looking at and, if needed, a pick or prospect could be added to up the offer (but I doubt it would need to be a significant add).
