That would be great news if the flames can essentially get him into the fold earlier. I always think that for all the talk about how well certain orgs develop players, that 90% of the dev work before they come into the ECHL or AHL is being done by their junior/european organization and the NHL team can support or supplement that but are also really just hoping it goes well. Flames getting a kid like this essentially into the organization and the building earlier is great. Although now that he's getting a taste of the SHL, you wonder if he'll be inclined to come over if there's any chance he sees minutes there, as the dub is quite a step down. Moving from U20 to the WHL makes sense though
