Unfortunately, some absolute morons think that is some basic business principle and will fight with you even when they are wrong. Like, you can show them the work order they signed and compare it to a product you made them to their exact specifications using information they gave you and they'll pull the 'ole, "but the customer is always right" card. Like, no, guy, this isn't McDonald's and I just showed you literal proof you were wrong.
In 20 years at my job my biggest one was one some lady gave me the diameter of her project we were making. It was huge and expensive. She signed off on it, paid a 50% deposit to get us started on it and then lost her mind when she picked it up. Turns out "diameter" and "circumference" were interchangeable terms in her mind. Finished product was 9.87 times bigger than what she actually wanted. She freaked at me saying I was a "business man trying to rip off an old lady". Like, no, you bomboclat, I can only make you what you tell me to make you, and I gave you a dimensioned shop drawing with all your numbers that you approved and signed. She could not get it out of her head that I should eat the entire cost of the project because the customer was always right. F off.
