Fire the coach, can the GM, sell the team, stop the construction on the new arena. Good god people its preseason, you guys crack me up.
A number of things pointed to this outcome today, so I am not surprised and glad it happened so we can work on some stuff.
First, we are now seeing somewhat NHL ready lineups the last two games.
Second, our veterans who started their like 2nd game of preason looked like they just got off vacation.
Third, Huska was trying new lineup combinations to see if there is any spark (because he will need to do that if and when we run up against it in the regular season) - now is the time try it.
Fourth, missed assignments, some new linemates trying to get know each other, there were glaring errors that don't show up when you are soldified in your positions and assignments.
Both the backup goalies struggled for sure ... but I still have way more confidence in Prozvetov than I do in Cooley. The Flames were terrible in the first two periods and played marginally better after that. Wolf would have been let out to dry and while he likely would have had a two goal rather than a four goal deficit, this was a team fail and not so much the backup goalies. Something about Cooley rubs me wrong. From his joking the first game about doing the windmill for the fans, to his lack of positioning, I just hope that we don't judge this game as the one that makes the decision. Proz was way better than Cooley in his other opportunities by a mile.
Hope those of you are that are the ledge, get off it, it is just the preseason, but as always, I am entertained by your hysterical and over the top takes.
