Will be curious to see what Conroy does about goaltending. I wonder if Conroy is going to wait to see how this season starts to see what direction he should lean into this year. He could go offer Samsonov an overpay and have a reliable backup goalie who can even act as a 1B for periods of time. Or he could pick up someone off waivers that looks better than the 2 goalies he’s had in camp as backups. Or he could just roll the dice to see if one of the goalies he has can settle into the backup role during the season. He could choose to play wolf a bunch to start the year to give him the opportunity to see if the rest of the team is ready to compete for a playoff spot this year. If they struggle even with Wolf in net, then there’s no point in trying to get a better backup. If they do well, he can address the backup goalie need through trade or potentially through a waiver pickup I guess.
