Rough game for most of the team. Especially the goalies and defence.
The only forwards I thought looked pretty good at times: Zary, Frost, Backlund and Gridin
Really did not like any of the defence tonight. Very disorganized and out of sync. Hence all the stretch passes that got behind them.
Can definitely see the raw skill of Parekh. Always looking to move the puck up hard and quickly. Players often weren’t prepared to receive the pass - especially with how hard he passes the puck.
Tough to say who is the best defenceman to pair him with. The typical thinking is to use players like Bahl or Pachal. Defensive defencemen to compensate for Parekh being aggressive up the ice. Only problem is that Parekh is often setting up his defence partner to make or continue a scoring play in the offensive zone and the play pretty much dies on those players’ sticks. Saw it a few times tonight where Parekh created some space and moved the puck to Pachal and you could tell Parekh wanted the puck back to move in and open up some scoring/passing lanes but, instead, Pachal just threw the puck towards the net and it was blocked or deflected wide. Possession lost and puck cleared. Ultimately, I think Weegar is the best fit but he likes to pinch and makes dangerous plays in the offensive zone so it could be an adventure with both him and Parekh on the ice.
