Pass Herald: Oct. 1, 2025 — Crowsnest Pass search update by Nicholas L. M. Allen

Alberta RCMP and Search and Rescue Alberta say the on-scene search has concluded after 11 days. The investigation remains open, and any new, specific information will trigger a redeployment. Superintendent Rick Janẽ and Cpl. Gina Slaney spoke on behalf of RCMP and Adam Kennedy spoke on behalf of Alberta Search and Rescue.

Scope of the search
• People: More than 400 trained SAR volunteers from 50 teams in Alberta, B.C. and Saskatchewan, plus 60 RCMP Tactical Support Group officers
• Time: About 11,000 hours of ground effort
• Area: Roughly 22 km² thoroughly covered, many parts more than once
• Reach: Routes extended to 12 km from the last known point, with 5,300 km walked or driven by ground teams inside the footprint
• Assets: Helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, drones, dogs, horses, swift-water and underwater teams, boat-mounted sonar, off-highway vehicles

Status today
• RCMP say there is no indication of foul play
• If the child is still within the search area, police believe he would no longer be alive
• The search area has reopened to the public
• The file stays active, interviews and tips continue; victim family liaison officers will keep the family updated
