It'll be great if we continue with a moderate/progressive here. Pootman was pretty moderate and tended to vote progressive more often than not, so if this flips back to conservative we could be in for a con majority

I appreciate that. And that's why I am not automatically dismissing a party candidate. I don't like the idea of parties in civic politics, but I won't just vote independent if those candidates don't fit my views. In addition, there seems to be a bunch of conservative "independents" that are actually running a coordinated campaign, so I don't really see the difference in how they operate.
