Bought both my young kids a Garmin Bounce. Believe they are 120 bucks each and 12 bucks a month to run the esim. But the amount of peace of mind it has provided me in being able to see where they are and communicate with them without giving them a phone has been worth it ten times over. Dont know how helpful it would be in the woods in this situation but I believe the SOS feature connects directly to their sattelite in an emergency. But for other parents of young children I cant reccomend it enough.
