Second, yes all MLB games start the same time on Sunday for the last game of the year. Dan and Buck talked about that last week. Buck talked about players sitting out to win a batting title because the closest guy went 0/4 in an earlier game and whoever was in the lead then sat out the night game so he wouldn’t also go 0/4 and finish second. So for the same reason they can’t hold back Gausman, if the last day means something he will have to play and can’t wait to see Yanks outcome.
Just like FIFA competitions; last game of group stages have all teams in the group play the same time, to prevent funny business with goal differential which are tiebreakers. Argentina in 1978 as a prime example.

That all makes sense - I'm just bitter and channeling my inner Springer about the various calls that have been going against the Jays and daydreaming about potential advantages.
But I'm sure if they tried that the ruling from MLB offices woule be Toronto has to play in the afternoon but the Yankees can delay because they're outside. Or because they're the Yankees, or whatever.
