I just don't see a future where Poirier plays for the Flames. His player type (offensive D man) ranks him 3rd or 4th on the depth chart behind the likes of BRZ, Parekh and Weegar.
Then you consider that if the Offensive D man spots are locked up he doesn't provide a capable enough defensive game to pair with any of those guys. And the there the left side D. Who does he replace. They're all capable defensive D men paired with the better offensive players
I bet Poirier would like a chance elsewhere as well.
