I'm not a big celebrety fandom type person, fawning over their latest life events etc. but I often wonder; where are these famous people, who disagree with where the US is heading, are generally wealthy, and have a voice? Yes I realize they say their piece here and there, or they post to social media, or give an interview on a show.
But what about an actual organized coming together of like minded famous people, who pledge their time and mountains of money to put something together to battle what's happening? If there's anything people love more than their phones and social media, its celebreties. Put together a celebrity funded journalism network and hire a bunch of bonefide good journalists, who report facts and stories. If a politician does something news worthy, report it; Democrat, Republican, Independant whatever. Fund in-depth investigative journalism that's real and fact checked. Place zero bias on it (which might be hard to do but one can wish for it) and publish it.
It could be strictly online to start, but I would hope eventually some TV networks would pick it up. You'd have a "TV" arm, a news website arm, etc.
I know, its a ridiculous idea to have the celebreties "save us", but their entire careers have been funded by people going to their movies, concerts, shows, sporting events, etc. etc. etc. I know many of them likely don't give any Fs as they're rich and comfortable. But again, one could hope?
I fully expect to be ridiculed for these thoughts and ideas
