Trying to get a sense for ranked prospects playing for both teams. of course in games like this advantages are always to older (even mediocre) prospects over the just drafted
I can't find a consensus Oilers prospect list I trust, so using Staples (ugh) but doesn't really matter given their 'depth'
so playing for the Oilers yesterday were the numbers 1*, 2*, 5, 6, 7, 7 (he has a tie at 7?) prospects (*= Calder trophy winner)
not playing were #3 ( an almost 24 year old Russian F), #4 ( a 25 year old defenceman) #9 (an actual conventional prospect, age 19) and #10 ( a 26 year old defenceman)
in short those were all of their meaningful prospects in action
for the Flames (per CP) prospects 1,2,5 and 8 didn't play (all are drafted within the last 2 years and thus conventional prospects)
