It's been open about seven years and I recall the jumper a few years ago and now this one, so one suicide and one attempt. Both made the news in some capacity (the only reason people know this one and the last one were suicides/attempts was because of Redditt and other sources), even though mainstream media correctly reported it as a "contained fire" as per suicide prevention tactics.
I'm not sure that qualifies as "keep killings themselves" , especially considering it's so close to the drop in center which would point more to the vulnerable population in the area than the library itself as some sort of morbid destination for suicide (the reconciliation bridge is just homeless people ending their lives off a bridge and not in a beautiful new building that everyone likes, and therefore doesn't get a cryptic media release). Working with the drop in centre on and off I know that suicides in and around the drop in centre are very high, like way more alarming than 2 in 7 years at a library down the street. More like every other week or so. But citizens know the building as a new'ish landmark and both made the news, followed by sleuthing beyond traditional media that bypassed a very important safeguard against copy cat suicides, so I guess that's why the questions and curiosity are there.
