He can complain about you complaining because you are complaining. You cannot complain about his lack of effort until you actually establish that he is lacking in effort. Otherwise, you are simply telling lies.

In every single game, one team wins and the other loses. That does not mean that the losing team did not make an effort, or that they wasted their effort.
You seem to have the delusion that effort alone makes the difference between winning and losing, and you can look at a scoresheet and tell who made an effort and who didn't.
