He speaks his mind, which is what we all routinely ask for and doesn't speak in those hockey metaphor's we all hate to listen to. Cant blame the guy for how he's feeling, he's played out his contract in its entirety and wants to move on and that's his choice.

He’s most certainly within his rights, I don’t think anyone is saying otherwise. However, complaining about fans perceive him and using it as an excuse as to why you don’t want to stay is not the reason he’s leaving. You can’t expect to be a famous athlete in a town that thrives on that sport and not receive criticism; it’s just the way it works.
