I think both Sharangovich and Bahl will surprise you.
Is Bahl at $5.35M that bad of a deal? Ceci just got $4.5M x 4 on the open market. A 5 year older Zadorov got $5M on the open market. It takes about 300 NHL games for a defenseman at the NHL level to figure things out. Don't take my word for it, that's what D. Sutter used to say, and Bahl has 221 games. That's why I actually expect him to tighten things up defensively, so he'll be a significantly better D in 2 years.
Now, as for Sharangovich, it really depends on which guy you're getting. I thought he looked really dangerous a year ago, and in camp last year until he got hurt. He and Coleman were amazing shorthanded. He was also one of the top scorers towards the end of the season. Moreover, he was money in the shootout a year ago when he had his confidence. If he can get back to being a 25 goal 50 point threat, then it's at least an average value.
