I think the organization and his agent realize the body of work is much more than one year though.
Since he entered the organization in 2019.
2X WHL Goalie of the Year (2020, 2021)
1x CHL Goalie of the Year (2020)
2X AHL Goalie of the Year (2022, 2023)
1x AHL MVP (2023)
NHL All-Rookie Team (2025)
Calder Runner Up (2025)
The organization has 6 years of seeing him in the organization now, and he's been pretty good at every level.
Of course some risk involved, but this contract isn't based on just his one year in the NHL for sure.
