There's definitely room to grow as a player though and he could easily end up being a fixture in the top 6 if he continues to improve. If not, I'm not really convinced he's a huge asset in the bottom 6 but time will tell on this one as he becomes more accustomed to regular NHL duty.

That's fair, but this deal's term means that the team can move on if your concerns materialize. We should know who this player is by that point in time.
