Attached is a screenshot of the current pools for girls JH T1 soccer in Edmonton. Those pools aren't uneven because the league coordinator doesn't know how to count; we've had multiple teams fold this week because parents (understandably!) are refusing to sign the Fairness and Safety in Sport Act forms that were sent home. So what is the current, immediate effect of this government's new legislation? Fewer girls are getting involved in sports!!! One of the star players on my own team might not be able to play because her parents are so livid about having to complete this form.

"Girls are clearly doing a little vicious compliance over what the direction is," Smith said during an unrelated news conference.
The point of this work is to keep trans kids from having fun and feeling included, she said.
"If they need us to hold their hand through the process to identify what kind of girls are girls … we will more than happily work with them to work through their team list and spot check genitals one by one, so we can be super clear about what it is we're trying to do," Smith said.
