Difficult to predict Parekh’s numbers. I think he has the skill and his development is at the point where he could definitely put up 40+ points this season. However, so much of that depends on his usage. Some teams are quick to give young players big minutes and opportunities - eg. Montreal with Hutson last season. Others are a little more cautious and patient - often giving them protected minutes and 2nd line powerplay opportunities.
Not sure how Huska will deploy Parekh to start the season and as the season progresses. For the most part, I think he seems to reward young players if they play responsibly and produce but pull back a bit on their leash if they start making too many mistakes. Probly a good development strategy overall but can limit how productive a season a rookie can have. And Parekh’s style of play could lead to many mistakes.
Also, Andersson sticking around for most of the season could limit Parekh’s opportunities a bit. The flames might want to inflate Andersson’s value a bit - which could mean a spot on PP1 is reserved for him.
