With dynamic pricing models...the good teams with high attendance likely can charge more as there's less games to sell.
I think MLB would go to aluminum bats instead of changing 162 games. I know all the recent rule changes like DH, extra innings rule have been changed and changes stats and records, but games played would be the line in the sand drawn by the stats geeks, a large part of MLB lore.

TV packages annd revenue also dictate those number of games more than in game attendance.
