Moving on...

The Emira is sooo tempting. I was close to putting a deposit down when they were first announced...I love the way the car looks, I love that it has a NA Toyota engine, I love that it's not another Porsche...I just couldn't pull the trigger when it came to it. Probably because my station in life didn't allow for the risk of buying an early run Lotus? Like you do though, it's definitely on my radar for the future. Come on depreciation....

I am not a particularly smart man, but I know that if there's ever an option to get the V8...get the V8.

The F-Type is a beaut. Too bad you could never get them with a manual (atleast as far as I'm aware). You ever try the Lexus LC? I feel like it would have similar vibes...and the NA V8 in that thing is glorious.
Let's hope that the Emira follows the same vein as the Elise/Exige/Evora where used prices have remained strong but the cars are still reasonably affordable.

Jaguar actually made a manual V6 F-Type (RWD in 340HP/380HP variants) between 2016-2019 and take up was less than 4%. I believe just over a thousand manual F-Types were built so they are rare. They are of course more desirable and expensive now. The manual gearbox was not a world beater and gets mixed reviews, I'd likely still opt for a ZF8 equipped V6 F-Type as it is such a damn good transmission and suits the GT nature of the F-Type. I told my wife that maybe we need a V6 vert and a V8 coupe!

I really like the LC, although I have not driven one. Would certainly be more reliable long term and will surely hold value better. I like the aesthetic of the F-Type more, Ian Callum just got it right when he penned the car.
