I've been humming and hawing on a 1980 924 Turbo, but am still apprehensive due to the potential maintenance costs if something goes really south (beyond my mechanical skills). It's an opportunity to get into a fun car with some wrenching/maintenance on the weekends. But more importantly, I find myself wanting to partake in some runs and what not with fellow enthusiasts. We drove from Kelowna down to Balfour this past week, and I can totally see how enjoyable carving that road would be in a vintage Porsche, with a group of people, stopping to stay overnight in small little towns at the local motels.
But on the flip side, we also want to buy another trailer and my budget right now does not allow for both the Porsche and the trailer. I'll probably go trailer as there's more benefit to family and making memories, but dangit I want to choose something for me for once!
