Players also strategize about current deals and next deals.
Coronato is a year younger and signed 7 years. He will be a UFA and 29 his next deal.
Zary is 23 and 8 years has him 31 and an UFA. I don't think he would do an 8-year deal and leave himself as a 31-year-old UFA
I could see 6 years, and probably around $6 mil. But add a M-NTC for the last 2 years.
3 years is ok for Zary as I could see a 7-year deal in 3 years and it only being $7-$8 mil depending on the salary cap and gives the Flames the option to go in a different direction as they develop players.
