Even looking at CC tenure, you dont have to look far to find a poor return for a dman in Hanifin, although maybe well get lucky with the pick. I also wasn't thrilled with the Tanev return, who is thought should of returned a 1st given what he is.

The writing has been on the wall with Rasmus for a while now. Hes a good player in a position if demand in an amazing contract. I still have faith they can hit a good return though.

If we dont get good value the flames ####ed up. Good value is a 1st + another solid asset.
The Hanifin return was a first and a “solid asset” at the time in an nhl defender and a conditional 2nd round pick. That Miromanov hasn’t really turned out and the condition wasn’t met, doesn’t really change that. I agree on Tanev and think he should have waited until closer to the deadline before trading him and they would have got more-but part of that seemed to be trying to do right by the player.

On your last point, do you think they turned down a first and solid asset already? If not, it’s pretty illogical and irrational to suggest theyve screwed this up if no team offers it.
