The teachers will probably start the school year, let everyone get a little familiar with their new rooms and teachers so that kids will know where to go when the strike ends, and then call the strike. I believe the rules of their vote to strike is that they have 6 months to start the strike after the union voted (mid October is the deadline to start).

Someone told me the government plans to lock teachers out August 28. Not sure how reliable that info is.
