I like the player's potential, but Zary has a career high of what 34points on a rebuilding club and he hasn't even found a home at C or W yet. For me ~3M AAV for Zary on a 2-3 year deal would be generous.

One player is a .54pt/g player the other is .52pt/g player. The contracts won't be that far apart.
