The reality is something else.
  • They are racist. Fans throwing bananas at black players. Not voting for Iggy for the Hart.
  • 15 of their 24 cups came in a 6 team league.
  • 2 of their cups were during WW2 when they sent fewer player to the war effort than any other team.
  • Their most "legendary" player, Maurice Richard had his best years during WW2 when many of the best players were overseas fighting Nazis.
  • Prior to the start of the NHL draft they got to sign every French speaking player automatically where the rest were divided between 5 teams.
  • Claude Lemieux intentionally tripped Vernon in the game 6 finals leading to a MTL goal.

I hate the Montreal Canadiens. I'm glad I got to got to the mall that paved under the Montreal Forum and take a dump in the bathroom located over the Canadiens goal.
Lol, so much hate. No one wanted to go to war more than Richard, he couldn’t pass the physical. The French speaking player thing is also myth. One fan throws a banana and they’re all racist? Be careful of the province you’re from. Iggy didn’t win the Hart because Calgary missed the playoffs. Theodore’s name was left off 4 ballots vs 1 for Iggy.
