I am not sure that the Canes or Flyers makes sense.
- The Canes just acquired Stankoven and gave him a big extension. McTavish would probably be as frustrated with the C depth there as he is rumoured to be with the Ducks.
- The Flyers just got Zegras from the Ducks.
The Wings, Canucks, Flames and Canadiens make the most sense.
- I can see the Flames and Canadiens offering the most as their respective needs for a top 6 C are significant.
- The Red Wings have okay C depth now, their bigger need is RD, so they might not be as aggressive to acquire.
- The Canucks seem like such a mess right now and they need to figure out what direction this roster is going to go in. If they are going for it then adding McTavish is a great move to push Chytil down to the #3C. But I doubt they would put together as good of a package as the Flames or Canadiens.
I wonder how much this McTavish situation is holding up Rossi. Any team that might be interested in Rossi would be more interested in McTavish.
