Honestly, I think the quickest way to a cup for the oiler would be to trade one of the wonder twins.obvious choice after drai signed for 8 is mcdavid. They could fix all their problems with one trade… albeit assuming they find a trade partner with the following assets and oilers management has the balls to pull the trigger as I’m sure the immediate riots would be quite severe.

Mcdavid for at minimum:

An NHL goalie
Young D x2
Draft picks x lots

Defensive issue (maybe), goaltending, and pipeline all addressed. Luckily bowman is a bownehead and won’t do that and signs mcdavid for big term and big money and pays 50mil, or half the cap, to 4 players (dri 14, bouch 10, nurse 9.5, mcdavid 16).

So then the oilers can live out the next 8 years in abysma, aging, mediocrity!!
