Not sure I see a difference.
Hull wasn't drafted earlier because of concerns. Commitment, level of opposition.
Pretty much the story of every late round find or they would have been drafted earlier.
Fleury Suter, and Gaudreau too small. Makarov unattainable. Loob didn't have the stats, and likely surprised them as much as anyone.
