I do think a lot of us in North America generally don't think too outside of the box and just buy whatever we are told and take whatever medication we are told without logical thinking.
Friends of mine who are in their 30's/40' and have CPAP machines need to have conversations with themselves about where their lives are headed. Some of them are grossly obese and eat beyond awful daily. They don't need more machines, they need weight and nutritional management along with more active lifestyles. It starts with basics. I am by no means a fitness athlete but still I can see things.
It's ok to question things and look elsewhere for obvious answers. In poor countries, in countries where obesity rates are vastly lower (even G7 ones) you don't have huge volumes of people on CPAP machines. It's become routine here and nobody questions it.

Fair, but apnea can suck the life out of you (my experience) making it much harder to address causes or exacerbations like weight issues.
