Outstanding episode. I thought the bit with the old-school telephones was great.

Also, I'm really starting to like the actor playing Kirk. I thought he did a great job in this episode and he seemed more like the character we know and love, except younger, inexperienced, and not quite as sure of himself yet. Loved the exchanges between him and Spock, and then with Pike at the end of the episode.
